Signing of PL-UA partnership agreements
On January 13/14, 2025, the ceremonial signing of partnership agreements regarding the implementation of the Polish-Ukrainian project “CARPATHIAN YOUTH FOR ECO SMART EDUCATION” took place as part of the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine Program 2021-2027.
The Polish partner institutions were represented Rector – dr Beata Rejman, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs – prof. Ph.D. engineer Ryszard Pukała (Print Bronisław Markiewicz State Academy of Applied Sciences in Jarosław), President of the Management Board – Dawid Lasek and Member of the Management Board – Andrzej Wyczawski (Association of the Carpathian Euroregion Poland).
The representatives of the Ukrainian side included Rector – prof. Volodymyr Ivanovych Smolanka (Uzhhorod National University), Director – Gana Tsimbolynets, Iryna Savchenko, Volodymyr Khymynets (Regional Development Agency of the Transcarpathian Oblast), Director – Yaroslav Shukal, Manager – Khrystyna Herzanych (Uzhany National Park).
During the first day of the stay (January 13), the most important issues related to the implementation of the project were discussed, including plans and goals for future cooperation. A discussion was held on the current situation of higher education in both countries, and possible fields of activity between individual partners were discussed.
On Tuesday (January 14), there was a meeting with prof. Ph.D. Krzysztof Rejman, who together with the Project Manager – Jarosław Stępiński and Head of the Fund Acquisition Department – Tomasz Sikora, discussed the scope of upcoming activities, including the project opening conference, which will be organized within the walls of our University.
The implementation of the project focuses on 4 tasks related to communication and dissemination activities, building educational paths about biodiversity, creating new eco-strategies, educational programs and methods of teaching environmental sciences, as well as cross-border educational activities for children from Ukraine and Poland.
As part of the project, the following will be built on the premises of PANS in Jarosław:
– Interactive Educational Center with a cinema room,
– Flower meadow (75 ares) and biocenotic garden (12 ares),
– Apitherapy room, including exhibition rooms,
– pocket forest,
– Green walls and houses for insects.
Project value: EUR 1,816,847.22
Funding: EUR 1,632,618.93
